Read this. It is a really good look at the practical realities of the shift between Modernism and Postmodernism. Extremely well written (Rie gave me the link in the comments below and apparently this guy wrote the book Walk On). There is a shift that is happening that is powerful and in many ways good. Stocki overstates his point in saying that 300 years of modernism in a given context in useless. At times modernism is useless, at times it can offer some light and at other times it is down right harmful. Stocki illustrates that quite well.
