Markio’s Home on the Web
I’ve been working on a paper and I’m doing a piece on the OT and I thought that I would share the first paragraph. . .
The Old Testament genres add to the Bible in ways that many people would find difficult to put into words. The Old Testament is a marvelous set of books in that it puts into words, in so many different ways, what most people can not verbalize. The poetry of the Old Testament skillfully expresses the deepest affections of the heart. The narrative of the Old Testament grips the reader with stories of success, failure and redemption. The proverbial sayings of the Old Testament capsulizes grains of wisdom that multiply into fields of understanding when one attempts to understand the meanings behind them. This is all done on the stage of the Lordís master plan and loving ways. The genres of the Old Testament touch the most surface emotion and the deepest intellectual thought that one who meditates on it can not help to see the power nature of God in the history of humanity.
