Now that mom and dad know, I can let everyone know why I am so proud of my Susana. Susana is now a notary of the public. In Canada that requires $200 and a desire to do that sort of work. In El Salvador it is a whole different beast.
Here you need to first become a lawyer after taking 4 or 5 years of schooling. Then you apply to take the test with thousands of other lawyers. This year there were 3000 lawyers taking the test. This was Susana's 3rd time trying and she did not study very hard. Of that 3000, 276 passed the test with 6.0 or greater. Susana received a 6.5.
I am so very proud of her. The problem is that none of her friends who studied hours, days and months passed. She should have her stamp by the end of June, a one year wedding present for Susana.
